Today, Pons, our fourth-generation family business specializing in the production of premium olive oils, is pleased to announce the start of the 2024 olive harvest. This year, the season kicks off with the Lecciana variety, whose early-harvest olives are known for their exceptional fragrance and intensity.
On September 18, Pons opens the doors of its mill, marking a record date on a global level that underscores the company’s commitment to obtaining extremely fresh oils from green olives. “We are among the first to begin harvesting, reaffirming our leadership in the global market and our dedication to organic oils of the highest quality,” says Eduard Pons, CEO of the company.
The harvest, which will extend until mid-November, will not only include the Lecciana variety but will also cover oils from the Arbequina, Koroneiki varieties, and the exclusive oil from the “Pons Varietal Garden.” The first Lecciana oils will be available at major retail outlets starting in mid-October under the Pons Janiroc brand.
Additionally, this season’s weather conditions have been particularly favorable, allowing the production of organic extra virgin olive oils with a vibrant green color. These oils not only stand out for their low acidity, below 0.1%, but also for their exceptional yield, below 10%. We can consider them as true olive nectar.
With nearly a century of experience, Pons continues its legacy of excellence and sustainability, combining tradition and innovation to offer products of unmatched quality. “Every drop of our oil reflects the spirit of Pons, from the field to the table of our consumers around the world,” concludes Eduard Pons.
