La Llena 2016, our red Collection wine

As we commented on our post about our white wine Cingles 2018, Clos Pons Collection Wines are the gift that our vineyard offers us in every harvest. These are unique wines with very limited production. They are selected by our winemaker Martí Magriñá, the result of the particularity of our terroir and the conditions of each vintage. They are wines that are born sporadically only in exceptional vintages and therefore have a maximum quality.

This is the case of La Llena 2016, a red wine made exclusively from Cabernet Sauvignon from the old vines from the farm in La Pobla de Cérvoles. An ecologic farm with calcareous soil that stands out for its altitude, 680 meters, since is located at the base of the Serra de la Llena mountain range.

Harvested and manually selected on October 5, 2016 and fruit of a vintage with low rainfall on 374l/m2, this wine has been aged for twelve months in Sylvain and Demptos barrels.

Martí Magriñà, offers us more details about this wine

The result has been this magnificent Collection wine with intense color, expressive aroma with spicy and balsamic notes. A sweet, full-bodied red wine.

We will serve it at a temperature of about 17ºC, in this way we can clearly appreciate its structure and aromas.

As our winemaker says in this video, it will be perfect to pair with grilled meats, fricandó, and especially with a wild boar civet.

Enjoy!
