Clos Pons, the most awarded winery in Costers del Segre.
Clos Pons was one of the key players at the 12th edition of the Vinari Awards, held last Friday, October 4th, at the Teatre Casal de Vilafranca del Penedès. In an event that brought together more than 500 attendees to celebrate the best of Catalan wines, our winery received two awards in the prestigious “Aged Red Wines” category.
Gold Medal for Aura, Collection Wine 2021
Aura 2021, an organic aged red wine from the DO Costers del Segre, was awarded the Gold Medal, standing out as one of the best aged red wines in Catalonia. This exclusive wine, with a limited production, is made entirely from Garnacha Negra (Grenache) from the L’Albagés estate. Aura 2021 is characterized by a perfect balance between expressiveness and elegance, faithfully reflecting the unique character of the Clos Pons valley, located at 500 meters above sea level. With this recognition, Aura continues to accumulate distinctions, after previously being named the best wine of Costers del Segre at the last DO awards.
Silver Medal for Pla del Tet, Collection Wine 2021
Additionally, our Pla del Tet 2021 wine, also from DO Costers del Segre, received the Silver Medal in the same category. With a limited edition, this high-altitude organic aged red is made exclusively from Syrah grapes from the Pla del Tet plot in La Pobla de Cérvoles, located 700 meters above sea level. The wine stands out for powerfully expressing the characteristics of its terroir and grape variety, solidifying its place as one of the great exponents of the winemaking potential of the region.
